Stitcher.com is a website which operates similarly to Pandora or Last.fm, except where those services find music that you might want to hear, Stitcher provides news and talk.

Now there’s a Stitcher app for the iPhone or touch.

Just choose from a variety of categories or sources as your starting point. At random Stitcher will play something. If you like it, thumbs up and Stitcher stores that listening preference. Thumbs down, and it will block that particular show and give a lower priority to playing shows like it. Love what you’re hearing? Tapping the star will add it to your favorites. Hate it? Skip it and move on. If you’re looking to listen to something very specific, there’s a search function.

As you listen more and more, Stitcher strings together your favorites and what it guesses might be your favorites. Truthfully, I haven’t listened enough to test if it really works well. But I love the concept, and since I’m an info junkie, I’ll be trying this out. Both on the iPhone with the free Stitcher app, and on the web from my computer where I’m sitting all day.

Check it out!

Tuner Internet Radio

Tuner Internet Radio is a sweet little radio streaming app. Hundreds of station presets are already there for your listening pleasure. Browse by catagory, or do a search for your favorite station.

If a station isn’t available, and they have a stream, chances are good you can add it to the already huge library.

Quality ranges from 24 kbps to 192 kbps. Very listenable. Most music stations are offered at 128 kbps.

It’s great for those radio junkies, or maybe you’ve moved far away from your favorite station. You’ll be able to find it or add it here.

And no, I didn’t get paid for this review… I even shelled out the $5.99 for the app. I didn’t INTEND to shell out that—I thought it was free (damn you one-click ordering!!). If I would have known it was that much, I wouldn’t have downloaded it. But now that I have, I don’t feel ripped off in the least. It’s well worth the six bucks!

Go forth and listen!
